It's Friday, which means the streaming faucets open again. Six new movies and shows land today across Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and the usual suspects, per MSN's roundup, and the list has a little something for everybody. A little. Let's sort through it.

The headline grabber for Hindi-language viewers is Hunkkaar The Roar, starring Aneet Padda. If that name sounds familiar it's because Padda has been quietly building a resume worth paying attention to, and this one looks like it's aiming for big-swing commercial energy rather than streaming-safe middle ground. Whether it lands is a weekend question. I haven't seen it, and neither has anyone else outside the platform, so consider this me telling you the door is open rather than what's behind it.

The other name title is Don't Be Shy, produced by Alia Bhatt. Producer credits from movie stars have become a genuinely useful signal lately, because stars with taste tend to attach their name to stuff they'd actually watch. Bhatt's track record as a producer is still young, but promising, which beats the alternative.

Beyond those two, the roundup fills out with a mix of movies and series spread across platforms, the kind of Friday drop where you scroll past three things to find the one that hooks you. I won't pretend to have hot takes on titles that went live at midnight. What I will say is that late September has been oddly generous this year, between the Resident Evil conversation still going strong and last week's Blu-ray pile keeping my shelf groaning, so a light Friday isn't the worst thing. Sometimes six is plenty.

If you're choosing between the two headliners, my instinct says Hunkkaar for a loud Friday-night crowd watch and Don't Be Shy for something you can actually hear the dialogue in. Treat that as a vibe read, not a review, and I reserve the right to be completely wrong by Sunday.

Jess Wingo already texted me asking if I'm watching any of these this weekend, which is her way of reminding me she finishes things faster than I do. She's not wrong. My queue currently outnumbers my remaining waking hours by about four to one.

So that's the Friday spread. Six new arrivals, two with real name recognition, the rest waiting to surprise somebody. If you watch one and it's great, tell me. If you watch one and it's bad, definitely tell me, those stories are better.
