It's August 7th and your weekend watchlist is probably looking dire. same. I've been refreshing the same three apps hoping something new just appears...you know how that goes.

So MSN put together a solid round-up of seven new arrivals hitting Netflix, Prime Video, and the rest of the streaming pile this weekend. I went through it so you don't have to scroll aimlessly for 45 minutes like I did last friday.

The big one is Ted Lasso finally landing on a new streaming home. If you missed the whole thing the first time around, or if you just want to rewatch Jason Sudeikis be aggressively wholesome for three seasons, there's your weekend. Dante would probably tell you it's too long and you should watch a three hour Slovakian art film instead but ignore him. Ted Lasso is comfort food and sometimes that's exactly what August calls for.

Netflix also dropped a new original movie this week that's getting some buzz. I haven't watched it yet so I can't tell you if it actually hits or if it's just algorithm bait, but it's on the list. The thing about netflix originals is you genuinely never know anymore. could be great, could be something you turn off after twenty minutes and go back to rewatching old Survivor episodes. no judgment either way.

The full list covers seven titles total across multiple platforms so there's a decent mix of movies and shows. I always appreciate when someone just tells you what's new instead of making you hunt through each app individually. streaming discovery is genuinely broken at this point. you open Netflix and it's like, here's seventeen things you've already seen and one new thing buried on row forty. so having a guide that cuts through that is useful.

My grandma Elizabeth sent me a text last week asking what app she needs to watch something on and I spent like ten minutes trying to explain which show lives where now. everything moves around constantly. Ted Lasso was an Apple TV+ exclusive forever and now it's hopping platforms. it's a lot.

Anyway. check the list, pick your two or three, and actually enjoy your weekend instead of spending it scrolling. that's the dream right?
