FX's Adults is back. Season 2 kicked off Thursday, Aug. 27, with the first two episodes on FX and FXX at 9 p.m. ET, and if you missed it live because you were, I don't know, watching one of the seven other things that premiered this week, you're fine. That's the whole point of this piece.

As Syracuse.com lays out, you've got options that don't involve a cable box. The premiere streamed live through services that carry FX, including DIRECTV (5-day free trial) and Fubo (free trial too). And if you just want the show itself without the live-TV bundle, new episodes land on Hulu the day after they air, which is the route most of us take anyway.

The free angle: sign up for one of those trials, watch the premiere episodes, decide from there. The trial-signup dance isn't glamorous, I won't pretend otherwise, but it works, and the season's just starting so you've got runway.

If you haven't seen Adults at all, quick pitch: ensemble comedy about a group of twenty-somethings fumbling through adulthood, and it wears its chaotic energy well. I'll cop to being an FX comedy partisan, and this one earned its way onto my watchlist. Jess Wingo keeps telling me I overhype FX comedies. Jess Wingo is wrong.

A two-episode premiere out of the gate is a good sign too. That's a network saying it trusts the show enough to hand viewers a double shot on night one, and I'll take that vote of confidence any day of the week.

So that's the play. Hulu for next-day episodes if you already subscribe, a DIRECTV or Fubo trial if you want it live, whichever gets you in the door fastest. The season's young. Come find me after you've watched and tell me it isn't funny.
