Some years Apple dribbles products out like a slow faucet. This year has been more like someone flipping the faucet on and off in bursts. According to 9to5Mac's tally, we're sitting at 11 new Apple products announced in 2026, and there's more on the way before the calendars turn.

The year started gently, with a refreshed AirTag back in January. Then March arrived and Apple emptied half the cupboard in one go. It was a launch cycle packed enough that I had friends asking which of three devices they should actually care about, and my answer, as always, was: which one solves a problem you actually have?

August brought the heaviest hardware news of the year, two major Mac updates. And if you follow this space the way I do you know Apple rarely lets September pass without an iPhone event, so that count of 11 is going to look quaint by Halloween.

I've been watching Apple do this dance since the original Macintosh unveiling in 1984, and the rhythm never really changes. Quiet winter, loud spring, louder fall. What changes is how much of it regular people need. Back when a new iPod meant explaining to my mother what an MP3 was, every launch felt essential. Now half the fun is sorting the genuinely useful from the "your current one works fine, dear."

So that's my honest advice here. Eleven products sounds like a lot because it is a lot. But if your AirTag from 2021 still finds your keys and your Mac still opens everything you throw at it, you don't owe Apple a dime this year. Technology should work for you, not the other way around. I'll be sorting through which of these 11 actually earn a spot in your drawer (and which earn a skip) as I get hands-on time, so stay tuned...
