If your watchlist has been feeling thin lately, good news. South Indian cinema is picking up the slack this week, with a genuinely mixed bag of Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu titles landing on streaming and in theaters. Outlook India has the full rundown, and there's more here worth your time than I expected when I started clicking through.

The one I'm most curious about is The Court, a Malayalam legal drama arriving this week. Courtroom stuff lives or dies on pacing and performance, and I'd argue Malayalam cinema has been doing the most interesting procedural work in India for a while now, so that alone puts it near the top of my queue. Easy night-one watch if it's on a platform you already pay for.

Then there's DC, which made me do a double take. No, not that DC, this one's a South Indian release riding on a punchy two-letter title. I know almost nothing about it beyond the listing and I can't decide if that's a problem or the whole appeal. Either there's a twist worth protecting or there just isn't much to say yet. We'll find out together.

I'm Game is one of the week's big theatrical releases, and the Dulquer Salmaan of it all means it'll probably dominate the weekend conversation. If you've read me before you know I think movies built for a loud room deserve a loud room, so a theatrical title like this goes on the list for exactly that reason.

Romanchakam is the wildcard, the one I've seen the least of and somehow want to watch the most. Every week has one of these, a title that shows up with modest publicity and then either disappears by Friday or becomes the thing everyone's arguing about by Sunday. I gave up predicting which way those coin flips land a long time ago.

Beyond the big four, you've got smaller streaming drops spread across the usual platforms, plus a couple of theatrical holdovers still worth catching if you missed them. The Malayalam selections run especially deep this week, which tracks, that corner of Indian cinema has been quietly putting out good genre work for a couple years now. Tamil and Telugu viewers get solid representation too so nobody's leaving empty-handed.

Check the full list over at Outlook before you commit your weekend, because streaming platforms don't always announce landing times cleanly and I'd hate for you to plan a night around something that isn't live yet. That's the South OTT calendar for you, it rewards people who check twice.

As for me, The Court gets first dibs on my evening, with DC as the backup if the courtroom runs long and I still want something with more pulse. Romanchakam goes on the maybe pile until someone I trust weighs in. What's jumping to the top of your queue this week, the legal drama or the mystery box? Genuinely asking. My Friday night depends on it.
