Let it go, let it go, one more time. Disney has locked in a release date for Frozen 3, and Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff are heading back to Arendelle whether you're ready or not. Per Merca20's report, the film is officially on the calendar for November 24, 2027, which drops it right in the middle of the holiday season.

That timing makes sense for a movie about ice powers. Late November means families are together, the weather's cold, and a return trip to Arendelle suddenly feels seasonal. The Frozen franchise has been one of Disney's most reliable earners for over a decade, and a Thanksgiving-adjacent date is familiar territory for a big family film.

What surprised me is how much we already know about the story. Variety has reported that the new film includes Anna and Kristoff getting married, and Olaf finding love, which is either sweet or the setup for the most adorable existential crisis in cinema history. I'd bet on both. The adventure takes us back to Arendelle with the core four intact, and past that we're waiting on a full trailer.

There's even been footage. A first look at Elsa and Anna debuted at Disney's D23 showcase, where Kristen Bell took the stage and confirmed the wedding herself. So this isn't some shadow project sitting in a vault somewhere. The machine is warming up.

I keep noticing how long this franchise can sit cold and still thaw instantly. It's been years since the last Frozen movie, and my niece, who wore out the second one as a toddler, is now old enough to be embarrassed about it. But that's the Disney machine at work. The kids who grew up on Elsa are aging into the nostalgia zone right as a new crop of toddlers discovers "Let It Go" for the first time, and Disney collects both audiences at once.

It's not like the property has been sitting idle, either. There have been shorts, the Olaf adventures, theme park attractions, and an endless river of merch. The Frozen brand prints money even with no movie in theaters. A third film is basically Disney walking over to a money printer and pressing the button marked "again."

With Bell already out there talking plot details, expect Disney to keep drip-feeding information over the next stretch, with a full trailer presumably arriving as we get closer to release.

November 2027 is a long way off, and there's plenty of animation between now and then to keep us busy. But when that first proper Frozen 3 trailer drops, the internet will lose its mind for about 48 hours. It always does.

So mark your calendars, parents of young children. November 24, 2027. Enjoy the quiet while it lasts, because once this thing arrives you'll be watching it on repeat well into the next decade. May your ears be stronger than mine were.
