Denis Villeneuve isn't fixing what isn't broken. The cast and crew for Dune: Part Two have been announced, and if you loved the first movie, the early word is a good sign. Collider has the breakdown, and the short version is that a lot of familiar faces are coming back for another round of spice and sand.

According to Collider's report, many of the first movie's cast and crew are returning, though the announcement doesn't spell out every name. Collider's own reporting suggests the core of the first film is staying put, so if Part One left you wanting more time on Arrakis, this is the news you were waiting for.

Continuity behind the camera matters more than people think. To me, the first movie felt like one person's fever dream about Frank Herbert's novel, not a committee product, and you want whatever made that movie special carried over intact.

I've made my peace with being the guy who defends three-hour movies at parties. But Dune is the franchise where that patience pays off, because the story only gets better from here. The back half of the first novel is where Paul's arc curdles from hero's journey into something much darker, which always made a second movie feel like a promise. Louder, stranger, sadder.

Now it's mostly about timing and format. Whatever happens, this is an IMAX-or-bust situation for me. A sandworm on a giant screen is the closest thing modern cinema has to a religious experience.

So keep your calendar open. The spice must flow. If Part Two gives this world the room Part One couldn't, we might be looking at one of the great sci-fi sequels. No pressure, Denis.

**Changes made:** Dropped the "spice, sand, and whispered prophecies" rule-of-three down to two items, and replaced the "The real question now" persuasive-authority trope with a plain transition. Everything else was already close to Dante's voice, so it stays.
