Paramount+ just dropped its September lineup and ok, this one's actually decent. Not "clear your whole month" decent, but enough to justify keeping the subscription around another few weeks. Full rundown is over at Yahoo Entertainment if you want everything, but here's my honest filter on what's actually worth your time.

short version: new stuff lands all month, and the mix is what you'd expect from this app. Some fresher titles cycling in, some older catalog things buried in the back half of the schedule. The Viacom vault goes deep, that's always been the quiet strength here. You get everything from big loud picks to comfort rewatches you've seen a hundred times and will happily watch a hundred more.

My thing about monthly lineup posts though, and this is just me talking: half the time the announced stuff doesn't show up when they say it will, or it lands three weeks late with zero warning. That's not a stat, that's a vibe from years of getting burned. so take the day-by-day schedule with a grain of salt. Streaming libraries are so unstable rn, stuff just vanishes, which is exactly why I keep saying physical media people are winning.

If you're picking and choosing, I'd go originals and exclusives first. That's the stuff actually guaranteed to be there day one, and it's the stuff that'll rotate out eventually while the old catalog titles will outlive us all. Watch the exclusives, save the deep cuts for a lazy Sunday.

So yeah, not a knockout month, but a solid single. Queue the exclusives, don't stress the rest. Dante keeps telling me there's no such thing as a "bad streaming month, only bad priorities," which is the most three-hour-movie-brain take I've ever heard... but he's not entirely wrong this time.

what are you watching first? I need new recs, my watchlist is in shambles.
