ok so I had to read this headline like three times before it computed. there is a new Fast & Furious thing on Peacock right now, and it involves LEGO DREAMZzz. and How to Train Your Dragon. at the same time. this is real, [Polygon has the details](https://www.polygon.com/fast-and-furious-lego-how-to-train-your-dragon-peacock/), and I'm still kind of processing it.

If you're not deep in the LEGO DREAMZzz universe (valid, no judgment), it's the animated series about kids who can enter the dream world, which is a cooler concept than half the streaming shows I've sat through this year. And now that world is bumping into the Fast saga, complete with dragons. Like actual How to Train Your Dragon dragons hanging out in a Fast-adjacent story.

and before anyone says it... yes, I know Fast & Furious already went to space. I know Dom fought a submarine. I know the franchise stopped being about cars roughly five movies ago and became about family and impossible physics. So maybe a dream-world crossover with LEGO dragons isn't even that weird anymore? Maybe this is just where we are as a society. The bar has been in the ground since the rocket car scene.

The whole thing is streaming on Peacock now, so if you have kids, or younger siblings, or you're just someone who unironically enjoys animated chaos (me), it's right there. No theatrical commitment, no homework required. You don't need to have seen the last four Fast movies, which is nice because at this point nobody fully has.

What gets me is that crossovers like this used to be events. Remember when the Avengers sharing a screen felt impossible? Now we live in a timeline where Dom's world and Berk can technically coexist and someone at a studio said yes to it. Straight up, part of me respects it. It's the kind of unhinged mashup energy that only really works when a franchise has fully stopped taking itself seriously, and Fast crossed that line years ago and never looked back.

My grandma always said the fun stuff happens when companies let people play with the toys together instead of keeping everything in its own box. She was talking about gadgets but it tracks here too. Is it a shameless brand synergy thing? obviously. Is it also probably going to be a fun 20-ish minutes of dragons doing stunts while someone says something about family? also yes.

Anyway, it's on Peacock if you want it. Watch it before Halloween content eats the whole platform alive, because that's happening as we speak.
