Hot Toys has lifted the lid on its Wolverine (Battle Reborn Suit) sixth scale figure, timed to arrive right before Marvel's Wolverine hits PS5 next week. Flickering Myth has the full reveal, and if you've ever owned one of these figures you already know the drill: an empty wallet and a shelf that suddenly needs reorganizing.

The figure recreates the Battle Reborn Suit from Insomniac's game. I want to say the first Hot Toys piece I ever saw in person was the Iron Man Mark III, back when owning one felt like an extravagance. That feels quaint now. If you're interested, watch the usual pre-order channels for pricing and availability details.

The timing is what gets me. A figure announcement landing this close to a game's launch sure looks like collectibles and game launches are marching to the same drum now. I can't prove the coordination, but I've watched enough of these cycles to smell the pattern. It wasn't long ago that a video game figure was a curiosity. Now Hot Toys shows up to a PS5 launch week like it's a movie premiere.

The suit choice matters too, at least to me. Going with the game's own Battle Reborn Suit instead of some default classic look tells you the figure is meant to stand next to the game on your shelf, not in place of it.

Me, I'll be admiring it from a distance. My display cabinet hit capacity somewhere around the third Final Fantasy statue, and my wife has instituted a strict one-in-one-out policy I'm not brave enough to test. But for the people who've been waiting on a proper AAA Wolverine game since the X2: Wolverine's Revenge days, and I count myself among them, a Hot Toys version of that suit next to the console is the whole fantasy in physical form. Some characters just earn the shelf space.
