new week, new queue. if your watchlist is looking as empty as mine after I binged everything worth watching in July, good news: actual stuff is landing between August 17 and August 23. GQ India rounded up ten of them, and a few are genuinely worth clearing an evening for.

the big one, at least for me, is Lanterns. yes, the Green Lantern show. been on my radar for a minute and the fact that it's actually arriving feels like a small miracle considering how long DC has been teasing it. if they pull this off it could be the best live-action DC thing in years. if they don't... I'll be straight about it, that's kind of my whole thing. grandma raised me on "tell people the truth about the gadget," same rule applies to shows.

then there's Pyaar Prema Kalyanam for the romance crowd. haven't watched this one yet so no verdict, but the title alone is doing a LOT of heavy lifting and I respect that energy.

Blood Sacrifice rounds out the headline trio, and based on the name alone it's either going to be a tight little thriller or ninety minutes of my life I want back. horror pacing matters, people. a movie that respects your time at an hour and forty is worth three slow-burn prestige slogs, and yes Dante disagrees with me on this constantly.

the rest of the list spreads out across Netflix, JioHotstar, SonyLIV, and the usual streaming pile, so there's honestly something for whatever mood you're in. mystery, romance, something with supernatural vibes, the works. check the full breakdown over at GQ India for every title and date so you're not doing that thing where you open three apps, scroll for twenty minutes, and end up rewatching a show you've already seen twice. we've all been there. last week me included, no shame.

I'm probably starting with Lanterns and squeezing in one of the smaller titles midweek, because like I keep saying, the random mid-budget stuff is usually what ends up being worth texting your friends about. the big tentpoles market themselves; the weird little thrillers need an advocate.

verdict on whatever I actually finish coming next week. hold me to it.
