Two Megaverse heavyweights are on the way. As Game Rant reports, Mega Golisopod and Mega Baxcalibur land September 8 as part of Pokémon Champions' Regulation Set M-C, which runs through December 1.

Both Megas are new additions, not reruns. Golisopod's Mega form turns the grumpy little isopod into a genuinely intimidating wall of a bug, and Baxcalibur's Mega brings the over-the-top ice dragon energy the Frigibax line always deserved. Regulation Set M-C adds six Mega Evolutions and 24 Pokémon in total, so these two are the headliners of a much bigger drop.

The full window matters here too. Regulation M-C kicks off Tuesday, September 8 at 6:00 p.m. PT and runs until December 1, so nobody's scrambling. That's a long runway to experiment, and in a competitive format a long runway means the meta gets to actually develop instead of getting solved in week one.

What I like about drops like this is how they quietly become community moments. My group chat lit up when the announcement dropped, half planning team builds and half arguing about whether Mega Golisopod is actually worth a roster slot. (It is, for the record. Emergency Exit trolling never gets old.) The theorycrafting around which Mega to prioritize is half the fun, and honestly the win-rate side matters less than the fact that a dozen people suddenly have a reason to boot up the same game on the same Tuesday.

Coverage sometimes misses that part. A new Regulation Set gives ladders a shared starting line, and shared starting lines are where rivalries get made. The ranked grind, the friendlies, the awkward dance of testing your team against someone who's been theorycrafting since the patch notes dropped. Those are the sessions you remember.

If you've been waiting on either of these Megas, mark September 8 and start planning. You've got until December 1, but the players who figure out the ice dragon early are the ones everyone else has to answer. And who's your crew trusting with Baxcalibur this set?
