Good news for anyone who spent last spring watching Tom Hardy glare at people until they apologized: MobLand is coming back. Guy Ritchie's crime series returns for a second season, and according to AOL, the premiere date is locked in. Friday, September 18, 2026, on Paramount+. Ten episodes, launching globally. Set your calendars, cancel whatever conflicts. You know what to do.

Season one was a strange little miracle, if I'm being straight with you. Ritchie doing television sounded like a coin flip, Hardy growling through a family-business gangster drama sounded like another coin flip, and somehow both coins landed on the edge and stayed there. It was nasty, stylish, and weirdly funny in that Ritchie way where a man can get threatened over a pint and it plays like a musical number without the music.

What made it work was the pace. This is a show that moves like it's afraid you'll change the channel, and on streaming that instinct turns out to be a feature. Every episode ended on something that made starting the next one feel less like a choice and more like an inevitability. I burned through the back half in one sitting and I'd do it again.

Where the story goes next, your guess is as good as mine, and that's fine by me. Half the fun of this show is not knowing who's about to get double-crossed, and if the season one finale was any indication, there's plenty of gangster math left to sort out. Families like the Harrigans don't resolve conflicts. They just move them to a bigger room.

I've said before that I don't believe in guilty pleasures, and MobLand sits in an interesting spot because some people file it there, like it's beneath serious viewing. It's not. It's a well-oiled machine doing pulpy material at full commitment. Jess Wingo keeps telling me I'll recommend anything with a British accent and a body count. She's not wrong, but that doesn't make me incorrect.

If you missed season one, now's the window. You'll want to be caught up before September 18, when the new episodes start dropping and everyone on your feed starts posting about them. Nobody wants to be the person nodding along while pretending they know who died.

So that's your assignment. Catch up, then clear the schedule for the return. And if Hardy goes the whole season without at least one scene where he quietly menaces someone in a car, I'll eat my remote.
