OK so Mondo just pulled back the curtain on their new 1/6 scale Shredder figure and it is, no exaggeration, one of the coolest TMNT collectibles I've seen in a minute. Collider has the exclusive first look, and yeah, it's $265, which sounds like a lot until you look at it and then suddenly it sounds like... maybe fine? Dangerous logic, I know.

The figure pulls from basically the whole history of the Turtles. We're talking the gritty black and white comics origins, the neon cartoon era, all of it mashed into one design. And that's the right move for Shredder specifically, because he's a character who's been EVERYTHING over the decades. Menacing comic villain. Goofy cartoon bad guy with a grocery list of weird schemes. Movie monster. This figure somehow nods to all those versions at once without feeling like a collage.

Details worth yelling about: the fabric outfit layering, the articulated fingers (articulated fingers!! on a 1/6 figure at this price, thank you), and the swappable pieces that let you shift his whole vibe depending on which era of Shredder you're feeling that day. There's something genuinely fun about a collectible that knows fans of this franchise span like four generations. My grandma had gadgets in my hands before I could walk and somehow that turned into me being the person who gets weirdly emotional about collectible announcements, so here we are.

I keep saying this but it bears repeating: the physical stuff matters. In a world where everything lives on a server somewhere and can vanish when a licensing deal expires, a figure like this just... exists. On your shelf. Nobody can take it away. That's the whole appeal of the 1/6 scale scene and Mondo has been quietly one of the best at it for years.

Is $265 steep? Yes. Am I going to spend twenty minutes tonight doing mental math about my budget anyway? Also yes. Preorders tend to sell through fast on the Mondo stuff, especially anything TMNT-branded, so if you're in, don't sit on it forever.

If you grab one, send me pics. I want to see someone's shelf with this thing looming over their entire setup. He'd want it that way.
