Netflix just dropped its September 2026 slate and there's actual stuff on it this time. Not the usual "here's a baking show and a movie you've seen twice" month. Yahoo has the full breakdown, but imma just hit the highlights real quick because that's literally what I'm here for.

The big one is obviously The Gentlemen season 2. Guy Ritchie's crime universe coming back means more Theo James looking stressed in nice jackets, and like... I'm not complaining. Season 1 was way better than it had any business being, so the fact that it got a second round instead of quietly disappearing like most Netflix crime shows is a good sign. fast renewals are basically the streaming version of a standing ovation and this one earned it.

Alongside that you've got a handful of other arrivals actually worth putting on your list. New original movies, some returning series, and the usual licensed stuff slipping in quietly at the start of the month. that's always where the good licensed titles hide btw. buried with no announcement, because Netflix would rather you watch their stuff.

I'm not gonna do the full list thing here since I literally just wrote up Netflix UK's September lineup last week, but the pattern holds: first of the month is when the catalog titles land, mid-month is the originals, and the stuff everyone will actually be talking about gets spaced out so you keep your subscription another 30 days. They're not subtle about it. They don't have to be.

My advice, same as always: add things to My List the second you see them. Titles vanish without warning, and I say that as someone whose grandmother taught me to never trust that anything on a streaming service is permanent. Thanks grandma. If a movie you want to watch is leaving, watch it now. Don't save it for "someday" because someday is when it gets pulled for a tax thing.

Check the Yahoo piece for the complete release calendar with dates, since half the value of these lists is knowing when stuff drops so you're not scrolling past it three weeks later like "wait, when did this get here."

Anyway. The Gentlemen season 2 is the anchor, the rest is bonus. And if crime comedies with posh British people doing crimes aren't your thing... I don't know what to tell you, that's most of what's good on Netflix right now.
