If you know, you know. And if you know, your chest probably tightened a little just reading the words "Shibuya Incident."

Crunchyroll has confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a new release for U.S. fans, built around the arc the source at ComicBook.com calls the series' most emotional, one year on. Details on what this release actually is are still thin, so I'll resist the urge to speculate too hard about what's in the box. Or whether there's a box at all.

Here's why this matters, though. The Shibuya Incident is the arc where Jujutsu Kaisen stopped being "the cool new shonen with the great fight choreography" and became something else entirely. MAPPA went absolutely feral on the animation, the body count climbed in ways the show had only hinted at, and characters we'd spent seasons learning to love got put through the wringer in ways that still live rent-free in fans' heads. I watched the whole thing unfold week to week and I still think about certain episodes. Won't spoil which ones. If you haven't seen it yet, go in clean, trust me.

That's what makes a release like this interesting. Whatever the format turns out to be, the Shibuya arc landed hard, and a year later people are clearly still thinking about it. Crunchyroll doesn't circle back to something a year later for no reason. It left a mark.

The timing makes sense too. Jujutsu Kaisen's momentum hasn't slowed, and a release like this keeps the ember lit while everyone waits for whatever comes next from the franchise.

If you skipped the arc when it aired because you were waiting for the right moment, this is the right moment. Clear a weekend. Put your phone in another room. Maybe keep some tissues within reach, and I'm only half joking about that.

So what do you think, does the Shibuya Incident still hold the crown as the best arc in the show, or did a later storyline take it for you? I have my answer locked in, but I'm curious how everyone else landed. Drop it in the comments. I'll be over here rewatching episode 40-something and pretending I'm not going to get emotional again.
