Godzilla is getting a fancy limited edition watch and straight up, the details are doing most of the heavy lifting here. Only 1,954 of them exist. As in the year the original Godzilla dropped and basically invented the kaiju genre. Cute, right? Dexerto has the full rundown if you want every spec.

I'm a sucker for this kind of thing. My grandma used to say if you're gonna buy something dumb and expensive, at least make sure the dumb expensive thing means something. And a watch that counts down from 1,954 pieces for the year Ishiro Honda put a man in a rubber suit and changed cinema forever? That means something.

The design leans into the movie history, which is the correct move. Nobody wants a Godzilla collab that's just a logo slapped on a normal watch. You want the texture, the silhouette, the little details you only catch on the second look. From what's been shown, this one actually commits to the bit, and that's rare for these collabs. Half the time a "limited edition" is just the regular product in a darker color.

Now the obvious problem. Only 1,954 of these. Worldwide. Godzilla fans are not a small group, they're a global institution that's been eating good since before my parents were born. So if you want one you're not browsing, you're hunting. Decide fast type situation.

No word yet on exactly how fast these will move but... it's Godzilla. it'll be fast. Expect the resale market to be insufferable by the weekend.

Anyway. Collectors eat again. Physical stuff you can hold keeps winning and i will keep saying it until everyone believes me.
