Another week, another stack of Japanese launches, and this one's stronger than mid-August has any right to be. Gematsu has the full weekly list, and buried in it are two games pulling me in completely different directions.

First up: Starsand Island. I flagged this one back at the end of July for its co-op and it never left my group chat. It's a 3D farming sim built around proper co-op, so you and your friends get an island, split the chores, and slowly build something together. Co-op farming sims fill the guild-shaped hole in your schedule: everyone falls into a role, the stakes are low, and the Discord banter is the real content. My crew already has an island name picked out and, I swear, a charter document with crop assignments. We've learned nothing from previous cozy game incidents.

And then there's the one for the story crowd: STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT. The beloved time-travel thriller about a self-styled mad scientist, a microwave, and text messages that reach the past is getting the full remake treatment, with redone art and a modern presentation. If you've never touched the original, this is the cleanest possible entry point. If you have, you already know you're buying it again. I mean, the thing came out in 2009, and nobody has ever won the "should newcomers start here" argument in a group chat. Everybody just replays the same twelve hours and comes out the other side emotionally compromised. Same heartbreak, prettier packaging.

Those two are the headline attractions, but the list doesn't stop there, and I'm not going to paraphrase the rest of it for you. Weekly release roundups earn their keep by being complete, so give the full list a scroll yourself and see what else catches your eye.

I've grown weirdly attached to these weekly lists, too. One week it's leftovers, the next you're staring at a co-op farming sim and a visual novel remake on the same calendar page, deciding which one gets your evenings.

So, what's landing in your library this week? If your crew is grabbing Starsand Island, I genuinely want to hear your island names. Ours is terrible and I need validation, or better material.
