Enemies to allies, the oldest Marvel trick in the book, and I will fall for it every single time. The new trailer for Marvel Cosmic Invasion shows Sue Storm and Doctor Doom literally joining hands to take on Annihilus, and it's exactly the kind of unholy alliance energy this game has been building toward. You can catch the full breakdown over at Superhero Hype.

The DLC, titled The Siege of Castle Doom, releases November 10 per Gematsu, so nobody gets to boot it up tonight. Annihilus is the enemy here, and honestly that's a smart pull from the Annihilation-era cosmic runs that comic readers have been begging studios to mine for years. The Bug-verse deserves its moment.

The timing lines up with Avengers: Doomsday looming on the movie side, where Doom is set to be a massive deal. Marvel clearly wants every screen you own humming with the same characters. Games, movies, everything points at everything else now.

What interests me most, and I'll admit this is pure speculation until we see actual gameplay, is whether the trailer hints at Doom fighting alongside your team rather than against it. A villain slot in a co-op brawler would be a big deal, because the person picking Doom would be making a statement in the lobby. Doom mains would be a whole personality type, and I say that with love.

The character math is fun either way: Sue's force fields scream support-tank fantasy, the kind of character who makes everyone else look good. That's healer-main energy I've respected since my WoW days. Somebody has to hold the line while the DPS crowd goes full galaxy brain.

So the wait is November 10, with the trailer already showing off the new story beats. Mark your group chat calendars accordingly.

Quick question while we wait: who's locking in Doom the second this update finishes downloading, and who's picking Sue to keep that Doom player alive out of pure obligation? Every roster has both people. Mine certainly does.
