Big week for South cinema, and I keep saying this but I'll say it again: the regional catalogs are eating right now and nobody's algorithms are catching up. Per Outlook India's roundup, we've got a loaded slate on both streaming and the big screen this week.

Streaming first. Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons lands on OTT this week and if you've been sleeping on Suriya... stop that. The man commits. Also joining: Varavu and Panchanama, and yes, same Panchanama I mentioned last week when details were basically nonexistent. Now it's actually dropping, so the universe is answering my prayers for basic release info. Slowly.

Over in theaters, it's the Karthi show. Sardar 2 finally arrives, the sequel to the 2022 spy thriller that had Karthi playing dual roles and absolutely going for it. If the sequel keeps even half that energy we're fine. And then there's Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar with Parvathy, which is the one I'm personally most curious about, mostly because Parvathy picks scripts like she has some kind of cheat code. Her hit rate is kind of unreal.

There's more in the full list too, including a few smaller titles that could quietly be the best of the bunch. That's usually how it goes right? The thing with zero marketing turns out to be the one everyone's talking about three weeks later.

My honest take, since that's the whole thing I do here: Sardar 2 is the crowd-pleaser bet if you want theaters and spectacle. Vishwanath and Sons is your couch pick. Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar is the wildcard I'd keep an eye on, because festival-favorite energy plus a lead who never misses is a pretty good combo.

Anyway, check your platforms before you plan your weekend, because half these releases scatter across different services and discovery on those apps is genuinely a mess. I'll be tracking how they all land so more when the receipts come in.
