Nielsen's streaming charts for the week of June 29 through July 5 just dropped, and a couple of things jumped out. The Bear moved up the chart a week after its final season premiere. And Elle, the new series a lot of you have been asking me about, cracked the top 10 originals for its debut frame.

Starting with The Bear. The show climbed in the rankings after the final season premiere, and that's a good sign. Moving up tells you it's holding its own, even if I can't tell you what that means for raw viewership without seeing the underlying data. People are showing up.

Then there's Elle, which landed in the top 10 originals in its first week out of the gate. Solid debut any way you slice it, especially in a summer already packed with streaming competition. A top 10 finish means people showed up. I mean, whether they stick around is the real question. We've all seen plenty of shows debut strong and then vanish by week three.

Love Island also shows up in this week's chart data, which is about all I can confirm from what I've got in front of me. It's there, and I'll leave it at that rather than guess at the details.

The interesting thing about this week is seeing where returning shows land versus new entries trying to break through. The Bear improving its position is the kind of thing that gets buried under headline chatter but actually tells you something about whether a show is maintaining momentum.

You can check out the full breakdown over at MSN's coverage of the Nielsen numbers, including the complete top 10 lists for both original and acquired titles.

I'm digging into Elle this weekend so I can actually have an opinion on it rather than just reporting numbers back to you. If you've already watched it, let me know what you think. I'd rather hear from real viewers than trust the algorithm.
