ok so a new dinosaur movie called The End of Oak Street is apparently everywhere right now and I say apparently because it completely bypassed my FYP until like two days ago. now it's all I see. the algorithm giveth on its own schedule I guess.

the basics, as far as anyone can piece together: it's a dino movie that's got people talking, it's built some serious word-of-mouth momentum, and everyone's asking the exact same question... where do I actually watch this thing. MSN has a breakdown of the whole situation, and the short version is streaming info is still fuzzy.

right now the movie is doing the theatrical thing, which in 2026 is kind of a flex. no digital date announced, no streaming home confirmed. the loosest suggestion out there is "later this fall," which could mean basically anything. so if it's playing near you, that's currently the only legal way in. I know, I know. leaving the house. tragic.

my gut read is it won't sit in vault mode for long, because studios never leave something buzzy on the shelf. the second the conversation peaks they cash in. capitalism speedrun. but I'm not gonna pretend I know the month, because nobody's said a month.

and can we talk about the dinosaur part for a sec. it's not complicated. people just love big lizards causing problems. that's the whole appeal. it's been the whole appeal since 1993 and it's never not worked.

the thing I'll actually be watching for is whether this is a mid-budget original that earned its hype or one of those viral-for-a-weekend situations that evaporates the second people can watch it at home. you know I'm a sucker for the weird mid-size stuff, that's where the actual good movies are hiding this year. if a dino flick with no franchise attachment is getting strangers to coordinated-post about it, something's usually genuinely working.

I'll update this the second a streaming date gets locked in. until then, check your local listings, and maybe text your friend with a car.
