Quick one for a Friday, and it's a good one. ComingSoon has the exclusive: The Fallow Few, the World War I drama starring Christopher Bonwell, finally has a release date and a trailer, and I've already watched the trailer twice.

Bonwell is one of those actors I'll follow anywhere after the Dune run. There's a stillness to what he does on screen, this sense that he's holding something back, and World War I material is basically built for that register. Trenches, mud, long silences before everything goes wrong. If you've seen any of the modern WWI wave, 1917 with its single-shot trickery, or the older stuff like Paths of Glory, you know the genre lives or dies on faces. Plot is secondary. It's always about who these guys are before the whistle blows.

The trailer leans into all of that. Fields, fog, a lot of men waiting for something terrible, and Bonwell carrying most of it with about four lines of dialogue. Some trailers oversell and this one barely sells at all, which is either confidence or a warning. My gut says confidence.

As for the date itself, check ComingSoon's piece for the full details, including the theatrical rollout and whether it goes wide or platform. Release strategy matters a lot for movies like this. The WWI drama is a tough sell in a year stuffed with Spider-Man money and holiday rom-coms, and we've all watched smaller adult dramas get dumped into four theaters and then vanish. Hopefully this one gets a real push.

It's also just a nice change of pace in the 2026 slate, which has been heavy on capes, sequels and candy-colored animation. I love all of that, you know I do. But a serious mid-budget war drama with a lead actor doing quiet work? That's the weird unknown pick on the menu, and I keep telling you the weird pick is the one you remember.

I'll have more once I've actually seen it. For now, go watch the trailer and tell me you're not at least a little curious.
