If you've had trouble keeping the year straight, same here. A new roundup from MSN puts the 2026 release dates for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox and PC in one place, and it confirms what I've been saying for two weeks now: this year is stacked top to bottom and the schedule never lets up.

It kicks off this week, and there's no warm-up lap. Wolverine lands September 15 on PS5, which I've already circled, and it stays busy from there. The roundup also tracks the big names like Forza Horizon 6, 007: First Light and Resident Evil Requiem, plus November entries including the Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee remaster. The list gets updated as dates shift, so bookmark it instead of reading it once.

I've already gone over this month's overload, so no need to rehash the whole thing, but the full-year calendar is worth a long look. Seeing everything in one view makes obvious what weekly news cycles hide: there's always something coming. Miss a week and the pile grows. Your mileage may vary, but that's how it's playing out on my end.

The Switch 2 column is the one I keep squinting at. Nintendo's second year on new hardware matters more than the first, in my view, because that's when you learn whether the pipeline is real or launch momentum was borrowed. I remember the SNES year two lineup, Super Mario Kart and the rest, and that's the standard. Every platform has something to defend this year.

My advice hasn't changed: pick your two or three must-plays for the rest of the year, accept that everything else goes on a wishlist, and stop pretending you'll get to all of it. Nobody gets to all of it. I've been doing this for four decades and I still have a backlog older than most of the people reading this.

Check the full schedule at the source link, then come back and tell me what your triage looks like. Genuinely curious whether anyone besides me has Wolverine at the top of the list.
