If you've been waiting to watch The Last Sunrise from your couch instead of a theater seat, the wait is basically over. Amazon is bringing the movie to Prime Video tonight, and like most Prime releases it's dropping at the very start of the day rather than some friendly evening hour. Per Decider, the movie begins streaming at 12 a.m. Pacific Time, which is 3 a.m. Eastern for those of us on the other coast.

So what does that actually mean for your viewing plans? If you're a night owl on the West Coast you can technically start it the second the clock hits midnight. East Coast folks, you're either setting an alarm for 3 a.m. or, and I'd recommend this option, you're just watching it tomorrow like a person with a reasonable sleep schedule. Either way, by the time you wake up it'll be sitting there in your queue ready to go.

I've said this before about midnight streaming drops but they're really designed for one audience: the people who cleared their evening specifically for this. The movie doesn't know or care that it's 3 a.m. where you live. It just shows up. The rest is between you and your caffeine intake.

Prime Video's day-one releases have become a whole thing these past couple of years, with Amazon throwing decent money at movies that either skipped theaters or had short theatrical runs before landing on the service. The upside for subscribers is obvious. New movies show up in a library you're already paying for, no rental fee, no extra trip. The catch is you have to actually remember when they arrive, because Amazon isn't always great at shouting about its own releases until the day of.

If The Last Sunrise has been on your list, tonight's the night. Check your local Prime Video page closer to midnight in case the timestamp shifts slightly, which happens occasionally with these drops, but as of now the plan is 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET.

And if you watch it at a genuinely absurd hour tonight, no judgment. I once started a three-hour movie at 1 a.m. and Jess Wingo still brings it up. Some of us just like the quiet hours. Set a reminder, make the popcorn, enjoy the sunrise.
