Warhammer fans are eating well again. A new action game set in Games Workshop's grimdark universe just got a full reveal for PlayStation 5, with a release date, a trailer, and the news that you won't be fighting through the hordes alone: two playable heroes headline the whole thing.

PlayStation Lifestyle has the full breakdown, including the date and the trailer itself. The setup is classic Warhammer: two heroes front and center in a setting that has never once met a conflict it couldn't make worse.

The dual-hero structure is the part that actually has my attention. We've seen Warhammer action games go the solo-power-fantasy route plenty of times, and it works, but two leads opens the door to co-op, or at least maybe a swap-on-the-fly system, depending on how the developers handle it. Nothing confirmed on that front yet. If it turns out to be drop-in co-op, though, this jumps straight onto my group chat's shortlist. My guild has a running rule that any game promising two-player fantasy violence gets at least one weekend trial run, and the track record on that rule is honestly better than most of our raid strategies.

It's been a busy stretch for the license in general, with Warhammer games arriving at a steady clip lately. Whether this one earns a permanent slot in the rotation, we'll find out when it lands.

No word yet on whether the second hero unlocks partway through or if both are available from the jump, and the trailer keeps story details pretty thin. Expect the usual marketing drip: a gameplay deep-dive in a State of Play or showcase, then a cinematic story trailer closer to launch.

One to watch for PS5 owners who like their action loud and their lore louder. And if it ships with real co-op, I'll see you in the trenches. What's your group's rule for picking co-op games, one weekend trial or straight day-one commitment? We're a trial-run household and I defend it fiercely.
