The FantasyPros crew just dropped their latest 2026 experts mock draft and I've already had three separate conversations about it today. Mock draft season is chaos. Everybody's got an opinion and everybody thinks theirs is the right one.

You can read the full mock draft breakdown over on MSN and you really should. Seeing where experts are trending on guys right now is genuinely useful, especially the discussion around overvalued players. If you're prepping for a draft in the next few weeks, you want to know who's being pushed up boards so you can avoid being the person who reaches two rounds early.

I push back on this a little though. The experts are smart. They watch film. They run models. They know things I don't know. But a mock draft is still just a best guess dressed up with confidence. And the things that win your league... those come from trusting what you see and what you feel.

I've said this before and I'll keep saying it. Draft players who make you feel something. Not just the highest-ranked name on the board. The FantasyPros mock gives you a roadmap and that's useful. But the roadmap isn't the destination.

What I always look for in these expert mocks is the disagreements. Where did two analysts look at the same player and see completely different things? That tells you something. It tells you there's uncertainty and uncertainty is where value lives. If everyone agrees on a guy, you're paying retail. If half the room loves him and half the room is nervous... that's where you find your edge.

The strategy advice in the article is worth reading. But I'll always believe tier-based drafting is the way to go, something I wrote about recently and still fully stand behind. Tiers let you breathe during a draft. They keep you from panicking at a position run because you know who's clustered together and who's worth waiting for.

I don't care about ADP precision or optimizing every pick down to projected points per game. I care about walking away from a draft feeling like I built a team I actually want to root for on Sundays. Give me the rookie with the story. Give me the bounce-back candidate everyone forgot about. Give me the guy who makes me yell at my TV in week 4 because he just broke free for 40 yards.

So yeah, read the expert mock. Steal their picks if you want. But when you're on the clock and your stomach drops because the guy you wanted just got taken two spots ahead of you... trust yourself on the next name. The experts don't know your league. They don't know your people. You do.
