OK so picture this. You're a baseball team. You already won the whole AAABA Tournament last year. You've got the trophy. You've got the glory. You've got everything. And now you have to go back out there and do it AGAIN with a giant target on your back.

That's exactly what Mainline Pharmacy did Saturday night at Sargent's Stadium at the Point, and they made it look HARD because it was hard. New Orleans came to play. This was not a walkover. This was a fight.

Mainline just brought everything to this championship game. We're talking offense. We're talking pitching. We're talking that gritty, gut-it-out ability to slam the door when the other team starts rallying and the crowd starts buzzing and everything feels like it's slipping away. They had every single piece working and you could just feel it.

And New Orleans, to their enormous credit, did not make it easy. They mounted a dramatic comeback that had to have every Mainline fan gripping their seat arms pretty hard. You could feel the momentum shifting. You could feel the energy changing. That kind of moment breaks a lot of teams.

It didn't break Mainline Pharmacy.

They held on. They made history. Back-to-back AAABA Tournament championships, which is one of those accomplishments that sounds simple until you realize how many things have to go right, how many players have to step up, and how much pressure you have to survive to pull it off even once, let alone twice.

The thing about repeat championships in any sport is that the second one is always harder. Everybody knows you. Everybody wants to be the team that took you down. You have to play with this weird mix of confidence and desperation the whole time, and Mainline somehow found that balance exactly when they needed it.

You can check out the full photo gallery and game coverage over on Yahoo Sports, and I definitely recommend it because championship celebration photos are one of the best things in all of sports. Pure joy. Pure relief. Kids who just cemented something that nobody can ever take away from them.

I just really love a team that knows how to finish. When the other team is surging and everything is getting loud and chaotic and you just... make the plays anyway. That's guts and trust and hours and hours of work nobody sees paying off on the biggest stage, and it's a beautiful thing to watch.

Back-to-back champs, baby. Mainline Pharmacy, you earned every single second of it.
