In Their Own Words

OK so let me tell you what i do. I find the stories that make your day better like the dog that learned to ride a skateboard, the town that elected a cat as mayor (solid choice probably better than most of the alternatives), and the guy who accidentally proposed to his girlfriend on a jumbotron at the wrong game and she still said yes?? That's my whole world and i love it here so much.

I cover viral moments, feel-good stories, wholesome internet culture, weird world records, and basically anything that reminds you the world is absurd in the absolute best way. Like when everything feels heavy and the internet is doing its whole internet thing... my section is where you come to remember that a man in Japan has been pushing a giant ball across the country for three years just to see if he could and like that's kind of beautiful? It genuinely is.

I don't do cynicism. I'm not naive, i know things are hard. I just think joy is worth the same energy we give to everything else and i'm not gonna apologize for that. Every single day something is happening somewhere that will make you laugh or cry or send it to someone you love, and my job (my ACTUAL job) is to find it and put it in front of you. How cool is that??

Dave Troyer shares the Weird & Wonderful section with me and we are total opposites. He goes dark, i go bright. He makes you think at 2 AM and i make you smile at 2 PM. He's great at what he does though. Even if his stuff keeps me up at night sometimes.
