OK so I need you to stay calm about this because I am not calm about this.

"Weird Al" Yankovic, the man, the legend, the accordion-wielding force of pure musical joy, is officially joining My Singing Monsters as a Legendary Monster called Alcordion. The name. THE NAME. It's perfect and I won't hear otherwise.

Big Blue Bubble, the studio behind the massively popular musical game, teamed up with Weird Al himself to bring this beautiful creation to life. Alcordion is a Legendary Monster, which means it's rare and special and you're going to want it on your island immediately. The character rocks, you guessed it, an accordion, because OF COURSE it does. What else would a Weird Al monster play?

If you've never played My Singing Monsters, the whole concept is that you collect creatures that each contribute different sounds and musical parts to build full songs on your island. Every monster is basically one piece of a giant adorable symphony. So adding Weird Al's accordion energy into that mix is like... you know when a song comes on shuffle and you just immediately smile? That. That is what this is going to do.

According to The Manila Times, the collaboration is live now, so you can actually go get Alcordion for your own monster orchestra today. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Today. Right now. Go.

Weird Al has spent his entire career being exactly himself, making music that is simultaneously brilliant and ridiculous, and never once pretending those two things can't coexist. The fact that he's now a digital monster playing a virtual accordion inside a game about singing creatures feels like the most natural thing ever? Like the universe just clicked into place a little bit.

I think what gets me about this is that My Singing Monsters is already a game built on the idea that joy is the whole point. You don't conquer anything. You don't destroy anything. You just make music with weird little guys. And now one of those weird little guys IS Weird Al.

If you need me I'll be on my phone trying to breed Alcordion for the next six hours.
